Rick Barrera

Rick Barrera is a certified speaker, sales trainer and
consultant based in San Diego, California. He is co-author of the business bestseller
Non-Manipulative Selling; Collaborative Selling; the comprehensive audio and video sales
training series How to Gain the Competitive Advantage in Selling; the audio program
published by Dartnell The Edge; and the comprehensive series The Dollars and Sense of
Exceptional Service Delivery.
Rick received his BA in Marketing from St.Bonaventure University and began an award
winning 15 year sales career that included telemarketing, business-to- business, wholesale
and retail selling, sales management, marketing, advertising and promotion. As a manager,
he'd always wondered what made a person successful. Was it something inside or was
it external events that made a difference? In 1979, he began to study why some people
excel and others, who seem to have what it takes, fail. Rick discovered that success does
have a learnable pattern, so he developed a formula to teach it to others. Because of his
work, Rick has developed a reputation as a leader in the field of peak performance.
In 1988, Rick Barrera received his Certified Speaking Professional designation from the
National Speakers Association, currently held by less that 5% of their membership.
Traveling worldwide, Rick delivers dynamic keynote speeches and interactive workshop
programs to many Fortune 500 organizations and national associations. Prominent companies
