CARRIE T. JAMES

Carrie James, founder and President of ThinkIT (IT), is an experienced consultant, product developer and marketing specialist in the training and development industry. Carrie spent over seven years with Blanchard Training and Development wearing various hats from Product Development Coordinator to Director of Sales and Marketing. In 1989 Carrie married, moved and started IT. With almost 30 years in leadership positions as well as her unique combination of education and experience, Carrie continues to grow IT at an above industry rate while maintaining their high level of service, quality and value. 

Prior to her career with Blanchard Training and Development, Carrie held various positions in the private and public sectors. Carrie is retired from the United States Coast Guard Reserve as Lieutenant Commander where she held various positions including; Executive Officer (2nd in Command), Battle Watch Commander and Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator. She also attained career status with the Federal Government working in DC and Southern California as a Budget Analysts and an Environmental Protection Specialist. 

IT is a woman owned, small business offering full-service corporate education and consulting. The firm specializes in Service Quality Improvement and Leadership. Some of our best selling programs are: Legendary Service, Frontline Service and Leadership and the Customer Revolution. Our services include: data gathering and assessments, developing custom courseware, facilitating process improvement, continuing education and development and creating standards of performance. 

In addition to exclusive partners such as world renowned best-selling author, consultant and speaker Rick Tate, IT has a network of associates that create a well balanced team diverse in their cultures, their geographic locations, their education and experience, and their expertise. Having been in the training and development industry for over 15 years, Carrie and the IT staff act as a one-stop-shop for finding solutions to just about any performance improvement challenge. This could range from finding and booking speakers for your next annual event to simply referring you to a quality vendor for a special product or service. 

Carrie graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a BA (Suma Cum Laude) in Public Administration and from California American University with an MS in Management. She also completed courses at Lowell Tech in Massachusetts, the University of Maryland, and the USDA Graduate School in DC. 

She is a member in the American Society for Training and Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement and the International Customer Service Association.
